On April 2, the Rikai Solar Storage (Phase I) project undertaken by Shanghai Electric Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. was successfully connected to the grid and successfully generated the first degree of "green electricity". This is also the first grid-connected implementation project of Shanghai Electric Energy Storage Company in 2022.
The Rikai Solar Storage Project includes 5.46MWp photovoltaic and 24MWh energy storage, and is located in the Rikai Industrial Park in Tinghu District, Yancheng City. It is reported that the first phase of the Rikai project has a photovoltaic installed capacity of more than 6 million kWh of annual power generation, which can save 1,900 tons of standard coal per year, reduce emissions of 5,900 tons of carbon dioxide, 16.28 tons of sulfur dioxide, and 22.5 tons of nitrogen oxides. It is of great significance to improve the local energy structure, ecological environment, and respond to the country's "dual carbon" goals. The first phase will be equipped with 24MWh of energy storage, which is expected to be connected to the grid in August this year. At the same time, the second phase of Rikai's 15MWp photovoltaic and 200MWh energy storage are under development.
The successful grid connection of Rikai's Phase I solar-solar-storage project will serve as a good demonstration and leading role for the energy storage company's strategic layout of other wind, solar and storage projects in Yancheng.
