China Energy Storage Network News: Data from State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. on the 25th showed that Xinjiang has transmitted a total of 503.7 billion kWh of electricity to 20 provinces and cities through four power transmission channels in 11 years, becoming one of the important bases of China's "West-to-East Power Transmission" energy strategic layout, effectively alleviating the contradiction between the uneven geographical distribution of China's energy resources and electricity demand.
Of the 503.7 billion kWh of electricity, 137.8 billion kWh came from wind and photovoltaic power generation. These new energy sources are equivalent to reducing my country's burning of about 41 million tons of standard coal, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 110 million tons, sulfur dioxide by 350,000 tons, and nitrogen oxides by 300,000 tons, helping my country's energy green and low-carbon transformation.
On November 3, 2010, Xinjiang's first power transmission channel, the Hami-Dunhuang 750 kV power transmission and transformation project, was completed and put into operation. Subsequently, Xinjiang's second, third, and fourth power transmission channels were successively completed and put into operation. In particular, the fourth channel, the Changji-Anhui Guquan ±1100 kV UHV DC power transmission project, which was completed in September 2019, is currently the world's highest voltage level, longest transmission distance, and largest transmission capacity transmission project.
After continuous construction and development, the scope of "Xinjiang power export" covers 20 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in my country. Electricity from Xinjiang goes east to Shanghai, north to Beijing and south to Guangdong, realizing the goal of "energy traveling through the air and electricity being transmitted to all of China".
As one of my country's important comprehensive energy bases, Xinjiang has abundant coal, solar and wind energy resources. Xinjiang's installed power capacity has increased from 14.07 million kilowatts in 2010 to 109.03 million kilowatts by the end of January 2022, of which new energy power generation capacity has reached 37.18 million kilowatts, and the utilization rate of new energy has increased from the historical lowest value of 63% in 2016 to 94%, and the regional energy structure transformation has achieved remarkable results.
