China Energy Storage Network News: On January 11, the Zhangbei Flexible DC Grid Experimental Demonstration Project was officially handed over to the North China Electric Power Dispatching and Control Center for dispatching and operation. The project's 18-month commissioning transition period ended smoothly and was officially returned to dispatch. At this point, the State Grid Corporation of China North China Branch is ready for all Winter Olympics power supply work.
According to reports, the official transfer of the Zhangbei Flexible Direct Current Project can further enhance the resource optimization allocation capability of the North China Power Grid, realize the multi-point collection and flexible consumption of clean energy in the Zhangbei area, enrich the friendly access mode of large-scale renewable energy, and provide sufficient green electricity guarantee for the Beijing area and the Winter Olympics. The project can deliver 14 billion kWh of new energy electricity to Beijing every year, which is 10% of Beijing's annual electricity consumption.
Since 2016, under the guidance of the State Electric Power Dispatching and Control Center, State Grid UHV Department and other relevant departments of the headquarters, State Grid North China Branch, State Grid Beijing Electric Power, State Grid Jibei Electric Power, China Electric Power Research Institute, State Grid Economic Research Institute and other units have worked together to ensure that the Zhangbei Flexible Direct Current Project is handed over to dispatching and operation on schedule, smoothly and with high quality. During the Winter Olympics, the Zhangbei Flexible Direct Current Project will adopt a four-terminal bipolar full wiring operation mode to support the supply of green electricity for the Winter Olympics.
To ensure the smooth commissioning of the Zhangbei flexible direct current project, the State Grid North China Branch has previously cooperated with relevant units to overcome the difficulties of flexible direct current startup and commissioning, electromagnetic modeling and simulation, and operation risk control, so as to release the potential of power transmission. The branch organized nearly 100 startup coordination meetings and technical seminars, issued nearly 20 sets of dispatching execution plans, completed the commissioning of a number of flexible direct current supporting AC projects, cooperated in completing more than 700 flexible direct current body commissioning tests, and cooperated with the State Grid Jibei Electric Power to promote the high-quality commissioning of supporting new energy power sources, and facilitated the grid connection and power generation of a total of 4.38 million kilowatts of supporting new energy units by the end of 2021.
