The maximum load of the Ali power grid increased by 55.2% compared with before the project was put into operation

China Energy Storage Network News: On December 4, the fourth "power sky road" in Tibet, the Ali and Central Tibet power interconnection project, was completed and put into operation for one year. In the past year since the Ali interconnection project was put into operation, the maximum load of the Ali power grid has reached 43,300 kilowatts, an increase of 55.2% over the maximum load before the project was put into operation; the power supply reliability rate has reached 99.52%, an increase of 14 percentage points over the period before the project was put into operation. From the commissioning of the project to November 30 this year, the total power transmission of the interconnection channel was about 130 million kWh, accounting for 87% of the total power supply in the Ali region; the Ali Power Supply Company sold 132 million kWh of electricity, a year-on-year increase of 67.27%. The commissioning of the project has promoted the Ali power grid and the Central Tibet power grid to achieve the same network and price, with an overall reduction in electricity prices of more than 55%, and 1,533 new electricity users, a year-on-year increase of 77.5%.

The commissioning of the project has driven the growth of social electricity demand and significantly improved the business environment in Ali Prefecture. Statistics from the Ali Prefecture Market Supervision and Administration Bureau show that at the end of 2020, the ratio of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries in Ali Prefecture was 10.7:35.3:54; as of September 2021, the ratio of the tertiary industry was 6.7:37.7:55.6, and the industrial structure was more optimized. By November 30, the total number of market entities registered in Ali Prefecture reached 14,658, with a registered capital of 22.042 billion yuan, an increase of 36% and 64% respectively compared with the same period last year. Among them, the number of newly added market entities this year reached 2,835, and the registered capital increased by 3.613 billion yuan. In the first three quarters of 2021, the GDP of Ali Prefecture reached 5.548 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7%.

At present, the Ali region has entered the peak period of winter electricity consumption. Chen Long, head of a local food distribution company, lamented: "In 2015, our company's freezer was built, but because of the power shortage and high electricity prices in Ali at that time, the freezer could not operate normally. After the Ali interconnection project was put into operation, the electricity price dropped to 0.68 yuan per kilowatt-hour. With the power guarantee, the freezer can operate normally. In total, our company can reduce electricity expenditure by about 400,000 yuan a year."

Deng Shengjun, manager of Ali Baiyi Supermarket, said that after the project was put into operation, the sales volume of home appliances in the supermarket increased significantly. Previously, the annual sales volume of home appliances such as water heaters, air conditioners, washing machines, and refrigerators was about 300 units, but this year the sales volume reached more than 600 units. Luo Bu, a resident of Tolin Town, Zhada County, said that his family bought a lot of home appliances this year. Now he can watch TV during the day and at night, use a washing machine for laundry, and use an electric rice cooker for cooking, which makes life much more convenient.
