On October 8, the reporter learned from the East China Branch of State Grid Corporation of China that the frequency of the East China Power Grid was restored to 50.0 Hz at 12:20 on September 29, and the frequency characteristic verification and new energy active support capability test of the East China Power Grid were completed. This test laid the foundation for improving the active support capability of new energy of the East China Power Grid and accumulated experience for the optimization of the power grid frequency defense system and the formulation of standards.
According to reports, this test was carried out simultaneously with the live transmission test of the receiving end safety control after the annual inspection of the Lingshao DC organized by the State Power Dispatching and Control Center of the State Grid Corporation of China. At 12:14:46 on September 29, with the order of the chief commander of the test, the power of the Lingshao DC dropped by 2 million kilowatts, and the East China Power Grid simultaneously shut down one generator set in each of the Yixing, Liyang, Xiangshuijian, Jixi and other pumped storage power stations, with a total power loss of 3 million kilowatts, and the lowest frequency of the power grid system dropped to 49.897 Hz. Compared with the simulation results in the test plan, the actual lowest frequency of the power grid deviates by only 0.01 Hz, reflecting a strong power grid frequency accuracy simulation capability.
During the test, the wind power, photovoltaic power and other new energy sources participating in the test and the conventional power sources in the grid successively triggered the primary frequency regulation action, and the local low-frequency pump-cutting function of the test pumped storage power station was correctly operated, and the primary frequency regulation performance of the pilot new energy station and the local low-frequency pump-cutting function of the frequency control system of the pumped storage power station in the East China Power Grid were tested. On the same day, the State Grid East China Branch also simultaneously carried out the cross-provincial mutual assistance practice of the adjustable load resources of the East China Power Grid.
In recent years, the State Grid East China Branch has expanded the flexible control means represented by new energy power sources such as wind power and photovoltaic power generation, and continuously improved the emergency control capabilities of the power grid. At present, the East China Power Grid has a pumped storage capacity of about 10 million kilowatts. With the addition of new units during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, it is expected to have a load-side control capacity of more than 20 million kilowatts in the future. The branch regards the construction of active support capabilities for new energy as a key work direction, organizes provincial and municipal adjustments within the network, and jointly with new energy stations and scientific research units within the network to carry out the construction of primary frequency regulation capabilities for multiple types of new energy.
According to the work plan, State Grid East China Branch will conduct an in-depth analysis of the test results, compare the primary frequency regulation capabilities of different types of renewable energy sources, and study and formulate frequency regulation standards for renewable energy participating in the system that are applicable to the East China power grid.
