On December 31, 2020, the 8MW/16MWh energy storage project supporting the Dongying Kenli Hongtai 40MWp photovoltaic power station, invested by Shandong Dongying Caijin Clean Energy Co., Ltd. and system integrated by Huyu Digital Energy Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Huyu Digital Energy"), was successfully connected to the grid, marking the first energy storage system project supporting 19 photovoltaic bidding projects in Shandong Province in 2020 officially connected to the grid and put into operation.
Dongying Kenli Hongtai 40MW photovoltaic power station is one of the 19 projects in the "Letter on Opinions on Photovoltaic Projects to be Submitted for Bidding in 2020" issued by State Grid Shandong Electric Power Company in June 2020. According to the commitment of the submitted project, the energy storage configuration scale is considered to be 20% of the project installed capacity, the energy storage time is configured for 2 hours, and the energy storage project and the photovoltaic power station are built in phases simultaneously. The project is located in Kenli District, Dongying, Shandong. The total capacity of the photovoltaic power station is 40MWp, and the total capacity of the supporting energy storage station is 8MW/16MWh. It consists of 3 2.5MW/5MWh energy storage subunits, 1 0.5MW/1MWh energy storage subunit, and 1 energy management system. Each energy storage subunit consists of three parts: energy storage battery system, energy storage bidirectional converter and boost system.
After the project is put into operation, energy storage can reduce the amount of abandoned photovoltaic power for photovoltaic power stations, increase the revenue of photovoltaic power stations, and realize the adjustable and controllable power generation of new energy, thereby improving the stability of the power system. At the same time, the energy storage system can provide peak load regulation, frequency regulation, demand response support and other services for power grid operation, which is an important means to improve the flexibility, economy and safety of traditional power systems.
The implementation of the energy storage project will help the rapid development of Shandong's energy storage industry. The new energy storage business is in line with Shandong's idea of transforming new and old kinetic energy. Energy storage has important demonstration significance for building a modern energy industry system and promoting supply-side reforms in Shandong's regional energy industry.
As the solution provider and system integrator of this project, Huyu Digital Energy was responsible for the design, AC side integration, on-site commissioning and other work of the entire system of the project. At the same time, it provided core equipment independently developed and produced, such as BMS, main control box, monitoring cabinet, energy management system, etc. This project took only 50 days from project approval, design scheme establishment, overall equipment integration, to equipment arrival, which reflects Huyu Digital Energy's ability to quickly deliver projects in energy storage system integration.
