The Centre for Development of Imaging Technologies (C-DIT) has held a tender to find companies to supply grid-connected, off-grid and hybrid solar inverters for its solar projects in Kerala.

The last date for submitting bids is November 24, 2020. C-DIT has not stipulated a security deposit for this tender. The fee for the bid form is 1,180 Indian rupees (about $16).

Battery manufacturers and authorized distributors that are original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for non-conventional energy and rural technology institutions are invited to participate in the tender. The list includes Growatt, Sungrow, Fronius, Evolve Energy, Huawei, SolarEdge, Hykon, Studer Innotec and Enertech UPS.

C-DIT said that the power conditioning unit (PCU) must be a string inverter with the function of feeding power to the grid. All grid-connected inverters must include appropriate self-protection and self-diagnostic functions. These functions can be used to protect the inverter and PV array from damage in the event of component failure.

An off-grid PCU must have a charge controller, which must be integrated with the inverter or be a standalone unit.

The Agency for Non-conventional Energy and Rural Technologies recently held a targeted company tender for a 10 MW solar power project in Kerala.

Hybrid inverters must be string inverters that have the ability to feed power to the grid. All PCUs used in solar projects must come with a five-year on-site warranty, which is provided by the equipment manufacturer.

To be eligible, bidders must have an average annual turnover of INR 5 million (USD 67,248) over the past three financial years. Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies, manufacturers and distributors of solar inverters are eligible to bid.
