On April 22, it was learned from the website of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) that the IEC standard "Guidelines for Planning of High Voltage Direct Current Systems" compiled by my country was approved for release.
Based on the summary of many of my country's internationally leading scientific research results and engineering practice experience, this standard stipulates the general principles, standard processes, evaluation indicators, analysis methods and specification parameters for the planning of high-voltage direct current transmission project systems, and provides a planning basis and general guidance that takes into account the advancement of DC technology, system safety and stability, and engineering economy, filling the gap in international standards for DC system planning.
It is understood that the standard writing working group is affiliated to the International Electrotechnical Commission's High Voltage Direct Current Technical Committee, and is convened by a professor-level senior engineer from the China Electric Power Research Institute. Its members come from China, the United States, Sweden, Japan, the United Kingdom, Spain and other countries.
At present, the application of high-voltage direct current transmission is becoming more and more widespread in the world. my country ranks first in the number and capacity of direct current projects in the world, and its technology is internationally advanced. This standard is another effort to promote my country's scientific research results and engineering practice experience in high-voltage direct current transmission technology to the world, further enhancing my country's international influence and voice in this field, and providing strong technical support for my country's standards, technologies and related high-value-added equipment to go global.
