On April 16, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. released a new plan for the construction of charging piles in 2020, focusing on new infrastructure. It plans to invest more than 250 million yuan this year to build 82 new charging station projects, covering special vehicles such as buses, taxis, and online car-hailing vehicles, as well as pilot areas for private car charging services in residential communities, to accelerate the coordinated operation of charging piles and power grids, and to serve the rapid and healthy development of the electric vehicle industry.
As one of the seven areas of new infrastructure, new energy vehicle charging piles are an important guarantee for the development of the new energy vehicle industry and an important part of emerging digital economies such as smart transportation and smart energy. Increasing the construction of charging facilities is a concrete practice of State Grid Corporation of China to implement the central government's new infrastructure deployment, make up for the shortcomings of charging facilities, and promote the healthy and sustainable development of the new energy vehicle industry.
At present, Zhejiang Province has promoted and applied about 310,000 electric vehicles and built 89,000 charging piles of various types. It is the first province in the country to achieve full coverage of fast-charging stations in major highway service areas. The charging service radius in Hangzhou city is 0.9 kilometers, and the charging service radius in Ningbo city is 1.2 kilometers. The foundation for the construction of charging facilities is solid.
In order to allow electric vehicles to travel more freely in Zhejiang, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power will continue to optimize service measures, including internal and external collaborative construction of charging piles, strengthening the planning, construction and operation and maintenance of supporting power grids, continuously optimizing and improving the layout of urban public fast charging networks, promoting the construction of charging piles in residential areas, promoting the inclusion of charging piles in overall urban planning, and deepening the application of energy Internet technologies, so as to comprehensively improve the convenience and speed of charging for the people.
State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power will also rely on the perfect charging infrastructure to accelerate the layout of "plug and charge, touchless payment" services, and cover public stations, special stations, and private charging pile business scenarios. Relying on pilot projects such as comprehensive energy supply service demonstration stations, it will provide users with one-stop services such as refueling, gas filling, charging, shopping, rest, and dining to meet the people's growing diversified and convenient energy needs.
In addition, in order to enhance the sense of gain of electric vehicle users in charging, since the end of February this year, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power has also actively supported and promoted the resumption of production and work of transportation companies affected by the epidemic, appropriately reduced the charging service fees of new energy taxis and online car-hailing vehicles, and successively launched charging service preferential measures across the province. It also relies on the Internet of Vehicles billing model and preferential activity functions to configure prices for charging piles, thereby reducing the operation and use costs of electric vehicles. This measure is expected to reduce the charging costs for users across the province by approximately 3 million yuan.
