Chinese power producer Beijing Jingneng Electric Power Co Ltd (SHA:600578) will develop a 5GW complex in Inner Mongolia combining wind and solar power generation with hydrogen production and energy storage.

The project plans to invest approximately RMB 23 billion (USD 3.23 billion/EUR 2.99 billion).

The article did not give details on the capacity of each component, only saying that the facility would be able to produce 400,000 to 500,000 tons of hydrogen per year.

Construction will begin this year, with operations expected to begin in 2021.
