Xinjiang Power Grid's electricity sales in January and February exceeded 20 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 15%.

According to the State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd., from January to February, the total electricity sales of Xinjiang Power Grid reached 21.04 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 15.72%. Among them, the tertiary industry contributed the most to the growth of electricity consumption, and the "big data" and "cloud" applications of related technology companies added 1.684 billion kWh of electricity consumption, raising the growth rate of electricity consumption by 9.26 percentage points.

In the first two months, the Xinjiang power grid consumed 18.65 billion kWh of electricity, accounting for 88.64% of the total electricity consumption; urban and rural residents consumed 2.39 billion kWh of electricity, accounting for 11.36% of the total electricity consumption.

According to the statistical data of electricity consumption of Xinjiang power grid, the primary industry consumed 210 million kWh of electricity, accounting for 1.1% of the total industry electricity consumption, which had little impact on the growth of total electricity consumption. The secondary industry consumed 11.77 billion kWh of electricity, accounting for 63.1% of the total industry electricity consumption, a year-on-year decrease of 1.29%, mainly due to the impact of the epidemic. The transportation of raw materials for ferrous metals and non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industries was restricted, and the production electricity consumption decreased significantly. The tertiary industry consumed 6.67 billion kWh of electricity, accounting for 35.8% of the total industry electricity consumption, a year-on-year increase of 52%, mainly because the software and information technology service industries were basically not affected by the epidemic, which made the tertiary industry contribute greatly to the growth of electricity consumption in the first two months.

At present, State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. is focusing on epidemic prevention and control on the one hand, and resumption of work and production and power supply guarantee on the other.

In order to support enterprises in resuming work and production and reduce their electricity costs, State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. implemented the work arrangements of State Grid Corporation of China and launched a supportive two-part electricity price policy and a policy to reduce the electricity costs of enterprises during the fight against the epidemic. It is expected to reduce the electricity bills of nearly 850,000 households by more than 500 million yuan.

At the same time, State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. is also actively promoting the orderly resumption of work and production of power grid construction projects. Liu Changsheng, an engineer from the Construction Department of State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd., said that two key projects of Xinjiang Power Grid to "ensure safety, people's livelihood and poverty alleviation" have been put into production, and six projects of power grid construction in border villages have resumed work. Before March 15, Xinjiang Power Grid will resume work on 27 power grid construction and maintenance projects, which will promote the economic and social development of the autonomous region.
