From February 6 to February 29, the State Grid Corporation of China reduced the charging service fee by half for nearly 30,000 charging piles covering five provinces, including Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan, to reduce the burden on various companies and drivers. At the same time, masks were distributed free of charge in limited quantities to car owners and passengers in need at manned charging stations to ensure public transportation for citizens during the epidemic prevention and control period.

Since the outbreak of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus, some provinces have delayed the resumption of work, which has had a significant impact on industries and practitioners closely related to citizens' travel, such as new energy vehicle rentals and online car-hailing. In order to reduce the burden on the new energy industry and practitioners, at the critical moment of the fight against the epidemic, China Southern Power Grid Company took the initiative to assume social responsibility, fully ensuring the stable and effective operation of the charging network during the epidemic prevention and control period, and launched a series of measures such as halving the charging service fee.

"As the epidemic prevention and control period enters a critical moment, many new energy vehicles are rushing to the front line of the fight against the epidemic, such as providing medical support and transporting supplies. More guarantees and support are needed in terms of logistical services such as charging." A staff member of the State Grid Electric Vehicle Service Co., Ltd. said that users can plan their travel routes in advance through the "Shun Yi Chong" APP, WeChat applet, and Alipay applet, and find charging piles through the APP map and charge in time to enjoy a 50% discount on charging services.

Fees are halved, but services remain the same. Faced with the severe epidemic, China Southern Power Grid has fully implemented various prevention and control measures, focusing on the operation and maintenance of charging facilities and charging services. Staff at each charging station take temperature measurements and wear masks before going to work, and thoroughly disinfect the charging area, rest area, and charging guns in the charging station to ensure a safe and clean charging environment. The on-duty personnel stick to their posts 24 hours a day, monitor the epidemic prevention work in real time, ensure the stable operation of the charging stations, and provide the safest charging services to our customers. At the same time, in order to ensure the health and safety of drivers and passengers, China Southern Power Grid has urgently allocated a batch of masks, which are distributed free of charge to car owners and passengers in need at manned charging stations.
