China Energy Storage Network: Nowadays, more and more electric vehicles are appearing in people's daily lives, making green travel a reality. Electric vehicles are at the strategic forefront of the emerging business of ubiquitous power Internet of Things. By building a first-class smart Internet of Vehicles platform, State Grid Corporation of China continues to explore the application of ubiquitous power Internet of Things in the field of electric vehicles, connecting charging piles, electric vehicles, electric ships, battery energy storage facilities, etc. to the Internet of Vehicles platform, vigorously carrying out research on green electricity trading, orderly charging, and intelligent interaction between vehicles and networks, and building a mutually beneficial and win-win electric vehicle industry ecosystem, creating a more green, intelligent, and comfortable charging and car-using service experience for people.

Deepening the application of smart car networking platform, my country's electric vehicles use "all green electricity" on a large scale for the first time

Today, electric car owners in Beijing can proudly say that their cars are 100% powered by green electricity. On October 17, the "Smart Internet of Vehicles + Green Electricity Trading Poverty Alleviation Charity" press conference hosted by State Grid Corporation of China (hereinafter referred to as the "press conference") revealed that State Grid Corporation of China will purchase 70 million kilowatt-hours of photovoltaic poverty alleviation electricity from Qinghai across provinces from that day, all of which will be used for charging at charging piles invested and built by State Grid in Beijing. This means that from October 17 to the end of this year, electric cars in Beijing will use 100% of Northwest green electricity.

"Green electricity" is green electricity, which usually refers to the electricity converted by specific power generation equipment such as wind turbines and solar photovoltaics. "The green electricity trading service product released this time truly realizes the charging of new energy vehicles with new energy electricity, which not only reduces the charging cost of car owners, guides people to use more green electricity, and helps the economic development of poor areas, but also improves the operation efficiency of the power grid and the new energy consumption capacity through intelligent guidance and control of electric vehicle charging loads." Han Jun, deputy general manager and member of the party group of State Grid Corporation of China, said at the press conference that through technological innovation and the coordination of multi-platform systems, this green electricity trading has realized the idea of aggregating discrete electric vehicle charging loads to participate in cross-provincial and cross-regional power trading and directional consumption of poverty alleviation green electricity in the northwest region.

"We have developed a load aggregation operation system based on the smart Internet of Vehicles platform, and connected it with the grid dispatching, trading, marketing and other systems to achieve intelligent guidance and aggregation of charging loads of multiple types and entities of electric vehicles, and bundled participation in green electricity trading and ancillary service markets." Quan Shengming, chairman and party secretary of State Grid Electric Vehicle Service Co., Ltd., said that in order to promote the intelligent interconnection and coordinated operation of new energy electricity in the western region and tens of millions of electric vehicles in my country, State Grid Electric Vehicle Service Co., Ltd. fully relied on the results of the previous platform construction, aggregated the charging load of electric vehicles in the Beijing area, participated in cross-provincial and cross-regional electricity transactions, and targeted the consumption of photovoltaic poverty alleviation electricity in Qinghai Province and clean electricity in Gansu Province through the State Grid's ultra-high voltage transmission channel.

Reporters learned from the press conference that this is the first time that my country's electric vehicles have used "all green electricity" on a large scale. It is expected to meet the charging needs of about 2 million vehicles, reduce the burning of standard coal by 20,300 tons, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 67,200 tons. In addition, through the settlement and cashback method, electric car owners will pay 2 cents cheaper per kilowatt-hour than usual.

At the press conference, Shi Shuanglong, director of the Operation Monitoring Center of State Grid Electric Vehicle Service Co., Ltd., demonstrated the whole process of an electric car owner charging green electricity at the State Grid Beijing West Station charging station. "The owner first needs to plug in the gun, click on the screen to scan the code to charge, enter the charging amount, and then open the 'e Charging' APP to scan the code to charge, and the charging will begin. Depending on the model, the battery capacity and charging speed vary. Generally, charging is completed after tens of minutes to 1 hour. Click on the settlement on the 'e Charging' APP. The APP will calculate the charging amount, charging amount and other related data of this charging order, and the system will automatically match the customer's existing coupons that can be used for this settlement. After the settlement is completed, as long as the charging is full of 30 kWh, the system will issue him a 0.6 yuan green electricity charging rebate coupon, which can be used the next time he charges." Shi Shuanglong introduced.

Shi Shuanglong told reporters that the realization of green electricity poverty alleviation trading is a systematic project of multi-link collaborative organization of power grid and multi-platform linkage of smart Internet of Vehicles, and each link has different participants. "In the entire transaction, the Internet of Vehicles platform accesses and provides basic data of electric vehicle loads, and the load aggregation operation system completes load aggregation and prediction through load intelligent integration technology; the power grid dispatching center allocates inter-provincial and inter-regional transmission channels according to the predicted scale to ensure the passage of green electricity; the Beijing Power Trading Center evaluates the landing price of green electricity and determines the trading strategy to ensure the success of poverty alleviation green electricity trading; State Grid Beijing Electric Power Company, State Grid Qinghai Electric Power Company, and State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company complete green electricity trading through the power trading platform to realize green electricity entering Beijing; State Grid Electric Vehicle Service Co., Ltd. serves users to charge green electricity through the Internet of Vehicles platform and the 'e Charging' APP." Shi Shuanglong said.

It is understood that since the beginning of this year, State Grid Electric Vehicle Service Co., Ltd. has studied and launched the work of "relying on the smart car networking platform to aggregate electric vehicle charging loads to participate in green power trading", and included it in the key tasks of State Grid Corporation of China in the construction of ubiquitous power Internet of Things in 2019. With the strong support of the National Energy Administration and local governments of various provinces and cities, green power trading pilots have been carried out in Chongqing and Zhejiang in the early stage, actively exploring the technology and trading path of "new energy vehicles using new energy electricity", and completed 150 million kWh of trading electricity. In the future, State Grid will carry out poverty alleviation green power trading in more provinces, further expand the scale of clean energy consumption, and enable more electric vehicle users to charge new energy electricity, enrich beneficial electricity, and charge loving electricity.

Build an electric vehicle industry ecosystem to provide charging services and the best user experience

At 20:00 on October 20, Mr. Yang drove his electric car back to the underground parking lot of Xibalizhuang Community in Haidian District, but he did not charge it immediately as usual. Instead, he used the orderly charging reservation function in the "e Charging" APP to complete the "inductive" smart charging at 23:00 when electricity consumption is low.

This new charging method that amazed Mr. Yang was due to the orderly charging closed-loop experiment of electric vehicles organized by the State Grid Corporation of China North China Branch and State Grid Electric Vehicle Service Co., Ltd. and NARI Group Co., Ltd. in May this year. This experiment successfully realized the real-time interaction of the automatic power generation control optimization instructions of the smart grid dispatching and control system to the State Grid Smart Energy Control Platform, and sent them to the orderly charging piles in Xibalizhuang Community, flexibly adjusting the charging power of multiple electric vehicles, and laying a solid foundation for the ubiquitous dispatching and control goal of 550,000 kilowatts of electric vehicle controllable resources participating in the multi-coordination of source, grid, load and storage in the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan power grid by the end of 2019.

In recent years, driven by policies, the scale of the electric vehicle market has grown rapidly. Affected by the work and rest time of office workers, the charging time of electric vehicle users from 19:00 to 22:00 every day overlaps with the peak electricity consumption of community residents, and some old community distribution transformers will be overloaded. If electric vehicle users charge in large numbers in residential areas in the future, problems such as insufficient grid carrying capacity may occur, which will bring certain risks to the safe operation of the grid.
