On September 6, the National Technology Standard Innovation Base (Smart Grid) led by State Grid Corporation of China successfully passed the review and acceptance organized by the State Administration for Market Regulation (National Standardization Administration).

The National Technical Standard Innovation Base (Smart Grid) was approved by the National Standardization Administration in July 2017. It was organized by the China Electricity Council and led by the company. In the past two years, the innovation base has closely focused on the overall goal of "building a platform, achieving two breakthroughs, playing three roles, and promoting four innovations", building a national-level technical standard innovation platform based on scientific research and industrial collaboration, and forming a relatively complete standardization service capability for the government, society, and enterprises.

Focusing on the development of smart grid, the innovation base has promoted the development of 243 national and industry standards and 659 projects; initiated the establishment of 9 group standardization organizations such as the Energy Internet of China Electricity Council, and formulated more than 200 important group standards in related fields; grasped the international standardization trend in the field of smart grid, led the establishment and formulation of 52 IEC standards, initiated the establishment of the IEC PC127 "Low Voltage Auxiliary System of Power Plants and Stations" project committee, and promoted the promotion and application of 381 Chinese standards in countries along the "Belt and Road"; built a "three-in-one" operation mechanism for transforming scientific and technological achievements into technical standards and effectively supporting industrial development with standards, as well as a standard verification and standard implementation feedback mechanism; established a standard science popularization education center and a school-enterprise joint science popularization education practice base, carried out standardization science popularization education and standardization talent training at all levels, and promoted more than 10 experts to serve in relevant positions in international standardization organizations such as IEC and IEEE; undertook pilot demonstration work such as the national "Xiong'an New Area Energy Internet Standardization Pilot" and initially formed a smart grid quality infrastructure (NQI) system. The innovation base will provide a platform support for the implementation of the company's "three types and two networks, world-class" strategy.

Relevant leaders of the State Administration for Market Regulation, as well as review experts from the National Standard Technical Review Center, China National Institute of Standardization, China Machinery Productivity Promotion Center, Sichuan Provincial Market Supervision Administration, and Jiangsu Provincial Standardization Association spoke highly of the preparation work for the innovation base and put forward corresponding work suggestions.

Representatives from China Electricity Council, State Grid Science and Technology Department, International Department, China Electric Power Research Institute, China United Research Institute, State Grid Sichuan Electric Power, and innovation base members including China XD Group, Shanghai Electric Power Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd., North China Electric Power University, and Machinery Industry Instrumentation Institute attended the acceptance meeting.
