According to data, on April 7, the output of renewable energy power generation reached 13.15 million kilowatts, a historical high. Among them, the maximum output of wind power was 9.877 million kilowatts, and the maximum output of photovoltaic power was 43.24 million kilowatts. The power generation of renewable energy accounted for 50% of the total electricity load of the whole network at that time.

On May 27, information engineering personnel of State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. are stepping up the construction of a new generation of intelligent new energy power prediction system. The project will further increase the space for new energy consumption and promote the coordinated development of sources, networks and loads. Energy is related to economic and social development. As an important comprehensive energy base in the country, Xinjiang has a large proportion of new energy and increasingly prominent consumption contradictions. How to maintain a high proportion of new energy consumption? The ubiquitous power Internet of Things has given a specific practical application in Xinjiang's new energy consumption.

Building a new energy prediction model

"The ubiquitous power Internet of Things has applied modern information and communication technologies such as 'big cloud, Internet of Things, mobility, intelligence and chain' to achieve deep integration with the smart grid. The ubiquitous power Internet of Things has greatly improved the digital management level and resource allocation capabilities of the power grid. Combined with the key and difficult issues in Xinjiang's new energy consumption, the power grid can more effectively play the hub role in energy collection, transmission, conversion and utilization." Zhang Wei, head of the Science and Technology Internet Department of State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd., introduced the ubiquitous power Internet of Things in solving the difficulties of new energy consumption in Xinjiang.

There are many factors that affect the consumption of new energy, and each factor influences each other. The value and application of the ubiquitous power Internet of Things is to focus on all aspects of the power system's source, grid and load, and make full use of modern information technologies such as mobile Internet and artificial intelligence, as well as new technologies, to achieve the interconnection of all things and human-computer interaction in all aspects of the power system, and to create a ubiquitous Internet of Things with comprehensive state perception, efficient information processing, and convenient and flexible application, providing strong data resource support for the safe and economical operation of the power grid and the consumption of new energy.

The characteristics of the power system are that power generation, transmission, distribution and consumption are completed instantly. The power supply regulation capability, grid interconnection scale, load scale and response capability jointly determine the potential for new energy consumption. Traditional prediction and analysis methods cannot reflect the impact of certain factors on new energy power generation, which limits their application scope and accuracy. By applying a new generation of intelligent new energy power prediction system, a quantitative correlation between various influencing factors and new energy prediction can be established, and a new energy prediction model can be constructed in a targeted manner.

Balancing the fluctuations of new energy sources

New energy sources are greatly affected by the environment and have large fluctuations. It is necessary to analyze the correlation between climate factors, local environment and power grid failures, formulate seasonal anti-accident plans in a targeted manner, and formulate preventive control measures in advance for key areas and types of failures according to severe weather conditions. State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. collects and cleans new energy operation and monitoring data based on data from the Internet of Things, corrects numerical weather forecasts based on all observation data, and establishes artificial intelligence deep self-learning and customized power prediction models to achieve high-precision numerical weather forecasts and power prediction functions at the regional, station and wind turbine levels. In terms of power grid failures, the heavy-load sections and dangerous points of the power grid under the operation mode of each period are predicted in advance, providing auxiliary decision-making for advance control of power grid dispatching.

As the provincial power grid with the largest installed capacity of renewable energy in the State Grid system, the safe operation of the Xinjiang power grid is particularly affected by the characteristics of renewable energy. With the involvement of massive users and information at the same time, the event understanding model is used to realize multivariate data correlation analysis. The balance of the power system requires adjusting the output of conventional power sources to track load changes and balance the output fluctuations of renewable energy. The consumption of renewable energy is the specific practice of the construction of the ubiquitous power Internet of Things in Xinjiang.

In 2018, the total installed capacity of Xinjiang Power Grid was 86.045 million kilowatts, of which the installed capacity of new energy reached 28.71 million kilowatts, accounting for 33.3% of the total installed capacity. The total power generation of new energy in the whole year was 44.414 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 13.9% year-on-year. State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. connected the Xinjiang Power Grid to the new energy power plant, established a massive real-time and historical data platform, integrated the dispatching, trading, equipment failure, weather forecast and other system data, and conducted in-depth analysis of many factors affecting the consumption of new energy based on the information interaction of the Internet of Things. Active exploration and practice were carried out in the analysis and prediction of new energy, power trading, and prevention of grid risks, and flexible arrangements for new energy output were made to increase the space for new energy consumption.

According to statistics, on April 7 this year, the Xinjiang power grid's renewable energy power generation output reached 13.15 million kilowatts, a record high, of which the maximum wind power output was 9.877 million kilowatts and the maximum photovoltaic output was 43.24 million kilowatts. The renewable energy power generation accounted for 50% of the total power load of the entire grid at that time. This is another improvement and breakthrough in the consumption of renewable energy by State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd., and it has also laid a good foundation for Xinjiang's green development.
