Electric vehicles can be charged at highway service areas. The charging station at Taimei Service Area on Changshen Expressway has attracted many car owners to charge. This charging station is the first inter-city charging station on highways in Huizhou, adding "green power" to citizens' travel.

It is understood that the Changshen Expressway Taimei Service Area Charging Station was completed and put into use in October 2018. It is the first inter-city charging station on expressways built by Huizhou Power Supply Bureau in Huizhou. There are 8 charging piles in the station, 4 of which are located in the service area towards Huizhou and 4 in the service area towards Heyuan. All the charging piles are DC fast charging.

The reporter learned from Boluo Power Supply Bureau that nearly 1,000 electric vehicles were charged at the charging station in the service area in both directions from February 4 to 10. According to reports, charging can be started by scanning the QR code using a mobile phone APP or WeChat public account. There will be operation instructions and staff to guide car owners at the station. Generally, an electric car can be charged to 80% in 30 to 40 minutes and can travel about 150 to 200 kilometers.

It is reported that the current charging price of charging piles is based on the peak, valley and flat electricity prices. The peak price per kilowatt-hour is more than 0.9 yuan, the flat price is more than 0.6 yuan, and the valley price is more than 0.3 yuan. (Reporter Zhou Liqin, Correspondent He Wenhao)
