China Energy Storage Network: "In recent years, the development of smartphones has slowed down, and the digital industry has gradually emerged. The energy Internet is showing a trend of digitalization, intelligence and low carbonization." Xiao Ran, vice president of strategy and industry development at Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., said at the 2018 National Energy Internet Conference hosted by Tsinghua University.
Zhou Xiaoxin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said: "Energy Internet is a deep integration of Internet technology and energy, with the characteristics of efficient energy utilization and increased proportion of renewable energy."
In the field of electricity, the traditional power system has limitations, and the energy Internet came into being. Zhou Xiaoxin believes that the traditional power system does not support plug-and-play of user power supplies, and cannot achieve two-way flow of energy information between users and the power grid; it is not suitable for various forms of synergy and complementarity, and its ability to improve efficiency is limited; it cannot achieve market-oriented operation, and its services are limited.
Zhou Xiaoxin emphasized that the key technologies for realizing the energy internet can be summarized into six points. The first is efficient and low-cost solar and wind power generation technology; the second is efficient, low-cost and long-life energy storage technology; the third is high-reliability, low-loss power electronics and new transmission technology; the fourth is the new generation of power system operation stability and control technology; the fifth is safe, efficient and low-cost hydrogen production, storage, transportation and application technology; the sixth is the new generation of artificial intelligence technology.
What is the purpose of developing the energy Internet? In the view of Sun Weihong, assistant to the president of ENN Energy Holdings Co., Ltd., the ultimate goal of the energy Internet is to achieve comprehensive energy utilization and build a modern energy system. ENN is on the road to transformation towards comprehensive energy utilization.
"Take the pan-energy network as an example. ENN has broken the traditional supply-oriented system, promoted energy development, improved energy operations, solved investment waste, environmental pollution, low efficiency and other problems, and built an energy system that conforms to the new era, and built an efficient, clean, economical and safe energy system." Sun Weihong said, "Take the case of an eco-city, which includes geothermal heat pumps, air-thermal heat pumps, photovoltaics, energy storage, ice storage and heat storage projects. After 10 years of exploration, ENN has gradually formed a pan-energy network system with its own intellectual property rights. This system is one of the manifestations of the energy Internet."
Regarding the purpose of developing the energy internet, Xiao Ran said that the core of the energy internet is to solve two problems. One is to achieve energy interconnection and the other is to optimize the current energy network. "Specifically, to achieve visibility, management and control in the energy field, whether it is a local energy internet, a national or even a cross-border energy internet, the foundation is the digital capabilities in various fields."
Liu Yongdong, deputy director of the Standardization Center of the China Electricity Council, pointed out that the standardization of the energy internet plays an important role in promoting the industrial and technological progress of the energy internet. "Standardization is necessary for the development of energy internet technology. The energy internet has a wide range, and it is necessary to formulate standards to achieve information interconnection and equipment interconnection. In addition, regulatory authorities need energy internet standards to standardize the construction, evaluation, and acceptance of demonstration projects."
Liu Peng, deputy general manager of Trina Solar Co., Ltd., believes that the development of energy Internet requires not only technological innovation, but also timely follow-up of policies and systems. Only in a market-oriented environment can new technologies have room for development and occupy a leading position in international competition.
