In the first half of 2018, the total output of diaphragms was 760 million square meters, an increase of 18.75% year-on-year. Among them, the output of wet-process diaphragms was 410 million square meters, accounting for 53.9%. In recent years, affected by the application of new energy vehicles, the demand for wet-process diaphragms has continued to rise. At present, most of the diaphragms used in lithium batteries of new energy vehicles in China use wet-process diaphragms. New energy vehicles are in an explosive growth stage under the support of national policies, driving a substantial growth in power batteries. In the next few years, power batteries will be the main engine driving a substantial increase in the output of wet-process diaphragms.
Driven by the new energy vehicle policy, the output of wet-process diaphragms continues to grow. Among domestic companies, the top three companies Shanghai Enjie, Suzhou Jieli, and Changyuan Zhongli are the main wet-process diaphragm manufacturers, accounting for 54.6% of the total wet-process diaphragm output, ranking in the first echelon. The second echelon companies Cangzhou Mingzhu, Xingyuan Materials, and Hebei Jinli Co., Ltd. have gradually released their production capacity, and their share has grown rapidly, with great potential.
After careful research, SPIR has selected the top 10 Chinese lithium battery wet-process diaphragm companies in the first half of 2018, in order to help investment institutions select targets, companies find long-term partners, and individuals choose work platforms.
