China Energy Storage Network News: On October 10, Liu Zhenya, Chairman of the Global Energy Interconnection Development Cooperation Organization and Chairman of the China Electricity Council, met with Magnus Braunen, Vice President of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering in Beijing.
Liu Zhenya said that building a global energy internet is a practical need to solve the world's energy development problems, and will effectively promote "two substitutions, one improvement, and one return", that is, promoting clean substitution and electric energy substitution, greatly improving the level of electrification, and returning fossil energy to its basic attributes, as industrial raw materials and materials. Energy development implements clean substitution, replacing fossil energy with clean energy such as solar energy, wind energy, and hydropower; energy consumption implements electric energy substitution, replacing coal, oil, and gas with electricity, and the electricity comes from afar, and what comes is clean power generation.
Magnus Brennan said that Sweden and other Nordic countries have rich experience in building cross-border interconnected power grids and forming a unified, efficient and complete electricity market, and the overall level of electrification is relatively high. The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering plans to implement projects related to improving the level of electrification, by gathering the wisdom of experts, scholars, policymakers and other parties, and integrating technological innovation resources to achieve the goal of reducing fossil energy pollution and reducing carbon emissions in the steel and other fields.
The two sides expressed that they will carry out joint research in areas such as improving the level of electrification, deepen project cooperation, and jointly promote the development of the global energy Internet.
