Recently, ABB, a global leader in power and automation technologies, announced that it will launch a series of new inverter products for solar applications, covering residential, commercial, industrial and public utilities.
ABB to launch new solar inverter products
Solar energy conversion devices are part of ABB's digital product portfolio. Solar energy solutions include:
1. Residential Inverter - UNO DM Plus inverter has a compact design and a power range of 1.2 to 6KW, capable of being applied to current and future intelligent building automation equipment. Plug and play allows the connector to be installed without opening the inverter cover, while the built-in user interface provides access to advanced inverter configuration settings, dynamic feed control and load manager.
2. Series inverter - Power rating up to 60KW, designed for large systems. It has an embedded web user interface through any WLAN device and Sunspec compliant Modbus protocol.
3. Inverters for commercial and industrial applications - PVS120 string inverters with multi-MPPT solutions will be available in 2018 with power and voltage range extended to 1500Vdc. The inverters can access the Internet of Things through IP communications, scalable cloud architecture and simple wireless commissioning via tablet/mobile devices.
4. Medium-sized inverter with a wide power range - The 1500Vdc PVS980 central inverter is now available in a power range up to 2300kVA. It has a low-maintenance cooling solution and has full industrial data communication options, including remote control monitoring. The inverter has a compact plug-and-play solution, PVS980-MWS megawatt station, up to 4600kVA.
