Recently, the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association and Beijing Jianheng Certification Center (CGC) held a working group meeting in Beijing on two industry standards: "Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Grid-connected Photovoltaic Micro-inverters" (Energy 20130832) and "Technical Conditions for Module-level Power Optimizers" (Energy 20160539).
Experts and representatives from Central South University, Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd., Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and other institutions attended the meeting.
This meeting further clarified the definition of micro inverters based on the original technical specifications, and put forward strict and targeted requirements in terms of structural requirements, mechanical properties, environmental reliability, basic electrical properties and functions, compatibility with the power grid, safety protection functions, electromagnetic compatibility, as well as identification and documentation, to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of micro inverters.
"Technical Conditions for Module-Level Power Optimizers" is the first standard for module-level power optimizers. This standard targets the characteristics and functions of module-level power optimizers and will formulate applicable standard requirements from three aspects: product definition, technical requirements and test methods.
At the meeting, Jianheng Certification Center introduced the contents of the standard in detail, and the experts and representatives at the meeting conducted in-depth discussions on the scope, terminology, technical requirements and test methods of the standard, and put forward their own opinions based on the characteristics of photovoltaic module power optimizers and grid-connected photovoltaic micro-inverters. After the meeting, Jianheng Certification Center will improve and modify the standard based on the opinions put forward by the experts.
According to other media reports, the formulation of the two industry standards fills the gap in domestic and international power optimizer and micro-inverter product standards, and will lead companies to control product quality and guide users to make product selection decisions.
