China Energy Storage Network News: The 2016 Tianjin Summer Davos Forum is being held in Tianjin. At this year's forum, the fourth industrial revolution, especially how to achieve energy substitution and transformation and apply clean energy, has become a hot topic. The reporter learned from State Grid Tianjin Electric Power Company that Tianjin is currently building a full electric drive demonstration zone in Wuqing District and replicating and promoting it throughout the city. It is expected that by the end of 2017, more than 100,000 households in 363 villages in Tianjin will all have electric heating.

In addition to replacing coal with electricity, State Grid Tianjin Electric Power is promoting 458 electricity replacement projects based on the 17 mature replacement methods it has mastered. It is expected that the city's replacement electricity will reach 2.5 billion kWh in 2016, taking a leading position in the country. Tianjin's successful experience and beneficial attempts in energy replacement transformation have also provided a demonstration model with great reference value for large cities at home and abroad to explore and implement energy interconnection and smart electricity use.

At present, as the world's first and largest-scale, replicable and popularizable smart grid comprehensive demonstration base, Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City is demonstrating the "demonstration effect" of electric energy substitution and energy transformation in many aspects. Here, the increasingly mature energy Internet can not only realize the real-time remote control of smart home appliances, but also understand the electricity consumption of their own homes, reasonably arrange the use of electrical appliances and realize smart electricity consumption. In terms of scale, Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City has not only small-scale independent distributed photovoltaics for each household, but also concentrated and contiguous rooftop photovoltaic systems, and a high proportion of wind power is connected to the grid.

The new energy consumption in the eco-city includes three modes: centralized power generation and integration into the large power grid, self-generation and self-use with surplus power connected to the grid, and self-generation and self-use, achieving the demonstration goal of 20% of electricity coming from new energy. In 2015, the power consumption of the eco-city reached 104 million kWh, the power supply reliability reached 99.999%, the penetration rate of distributed photovoltaic power generation was higher than 15%, and the local photovoltaic consumption rate reached 100%, all of which are world-leading levels.

Recently, 10 households in the Eco-City installed integrated photovoltaic power generation facilities developed by State Grid Tianjin Electric Power, once again realizing the "plug and play" of photovoltaic power generation for household self-use and grid connection, making terminal use more intelligent and convenient.

It is understood that under the demonstration effect of renewable energy utilization in Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City, Tianjin is accelerating the pace of optimizing its energy structure, and the proportion of renewable energy power generation is gradually increasing. At present, Tianjin's renewable energy power generation installed capacity has reached 520,000 kilowatts, and can generate 925 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. The practical experience and achievements of the Eco-City Energy Internet are highly replicable and scalable, and have been promoted in similar parks and counties across the country.

Based on these achievements, State Grid Tianjin Electric Power has further initiated research on the comprehensive coordinated control of multi-level energy such as photovoltaics, wind power, distributed energy storage, megawatt-level microgrids, electric vehicles, trigeneration of cooling, heating and power, and flexible loads. After being put into use in the future, it will realize the centralized and reasonable allocation and consumption of energy, and will greatly improve energy utilization efficiency from the source and fundamentally, making the power grid more economical and efficient.
