According to a report by Kyodo News, Japanese companies have jointly developed a futuristic bus that uses solar power and started operating it on the 1st. The bus runs in Okayama City four times a day. The two companies said that installing solar cells on a bus is the first time in the world.

The bus roof is equipped with a solar cell for power generation, and the electricity generated is used for LED lighting inside the bus. It is reported that since it can store electricity, it can still provide continuous lighting for about 9 hours even without sunlight.
