China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock Corporation Limited (CSR) Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute Co., Ltd. announced on the 12th that the photovoltaic inverter with special "voltage ride-through" function developed by them has passed the national technical certification. This achievement enables my country to overcome the difficulty of solar and wind power generation "off-grid" with its own equipment.
The reporter learned from China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock Corporation Limited that after arduous efforts, researchers have finally successfully developed a photovoltaic inverter that can be widely used in the new energy industry. This high-tech equipment can play the "low voltage ride-through" function when a photovoltaic or wind power station is connected to the power grid and a voltage drop occurs, supporting the grid to resume operation or prevent the expansion of the fault. After testing by the Solar Energy Research and Development Experimental Center of Nanjing State Grid Electric Power Research Institute, the only one in my country with the qualification to certify this technology, the photovoltaic inverter waveform and other indicators and test data performed well, and it has successfully passed the technical certification in early October.
According to experts, my country's clean energy power generation, such as wind power and photovoltaic power, has developed rapidly in recent years. However, the power supply of some wind power and photovoltaic power stations is unstable, and "offline" and other faults occur frequently. In order to ensure the safety of the power grid, many wind power and photovoltaic power are reluctantly abandoned. The industry estimates that in the first half of this year, about 2.776 billion kWh of wind power was abandoned in my country, and nearly 1/3 of the wind turbines were in an "idling" state. In order to change this situation, the National Energy Administration and the State Grid Corporation of China require that photovoltaic power stations must have the "low voltage ride-through" function before they can be connected to the grid for power generation. In this context, the authoritative certification of domestic photovoltaic inverters is of great significance to promoting the healthy development of the new energy industry.
