Mitsubishi Electric Corporation of Japan will launch a series of single-crystal lead-free solder solar cell modules with an output power of up to 210W on October 28. Due to the increased output power of the module, it can achieve higher power generation even if it is installed on a narrow roof of an urban residence. There are 4 shapes available, and you can choose to install it according to the shape of the roof. This product will be launched as a system that can make full use of limited roof space.

By launching a solar cell module series with an output power of up to 210W, along with a 200W monocrystalline product and a 190W polycrystalline product, Mitsubishi Electric's solar cell module product lineup will be expanded to three series. If the 210W series is used, the installation capacity will increase by 11% compared to the 190W series when the roof installation area is the same. If the size and number of modules used are the same, the total installation capacity of the 190W series is 3420W, while the 200W series can reach 3600W, and the 210W series can reach up to 3780W.

The 210W series has expanded the light-receiving area and improved output performance by thinning the collector electrode called the grid electrode located on the light-receiving surface of the solar cell unit by 20% compared to the previous product. At the same time, by using low-reflection glass on the module surface, the reflection of light is reduced by about 3%, increasing the amount of sunlight entering. In terms of shape, in addition to the rectangular standard module, a square module with half the output power and a trapezoidal module for the left and right sides have been added to cope with various roof shapes.

Solar power generation has been rapidly popularized due to subsidies from the Japanese government and local governments and the surplus power purchase system. The installed capacity in 2009 was 623MW, and in 2010 it increased to 1063MW, nearly twice that of 2009. With the Great East Japan Earthquake as an opportunity, solar power generation has received great attention as an independent power generation device during power outages. Mitsubishi Electric believes that in cities, the demand for systems that can achieve greater power generation in a limited area will increase, so it has increased the output power of the modules.
