On March 19, the "Solar Thermal Power Engineering Design Research Center" jointly established by China Electric Power Engineering Consulting Group Corporation (hereinafter referred to as China Electric Engineering) and the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was officially unveiled. " is a solar thermal power engineering research and development institution built on the basis of the "Badaling Solar Thermal Power Demonstration Power Station", a national 863 project. The "Badaling Solar Thermal Power Demonstration Power Station" is the first megawatt-level solar tower thermal power generation project in Asia. Its goal is to complete the construction of a solar tower experimental power station with a capacity of 1MWe and establish a solar thermal power generation experimental demonstration base. The project covers a total area of 236.8 acres. According to the plan, the power station will officially generate electricity at the end of 2010. After the completion of the power station, the annual power generation will reach about 1.95 million kWh, which can save 663 tons of standard coal each year. Through this project, China will master the core technologies of tower thermal power generation at the international advanced level, such as the overall design technology of tower solar thermal power stations based on energy cascade utilization, and solve the problems of the impact of solar intermittency on the stability of the power generation system and the high heat loss of conventional heat storage. We have obtained independent intellectual property rights in the development of high-precision and low-cost heliostats, design technology of superheated steam absorbers, centralized control systems of solar tower thermal power plants, and solar thermal power generation experimental platforms, and have reached the world's advanced level.
Since last year, China Electric Power Engineering and the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have actively cooperated to complete the preliminary design of the power plant and the scientific research and design work in key areas such as the system design based on high and low temperature two-stage heat storage. The "Solar Thermal Power Generation Engineering Design Research Center" jointly established by the two parties will undertake a number of tasks such as the compilation of solar thermal power generation scientific research standards, application and promotion of technical achievements, technical support for engineering projects, and technical information exchange and training, making new contributions to improving the level of solar thermal power generation technology in China.
In their speeches, Wang Jianping, general manager of China Electric Power Engineering, and Xiao Liye, director of the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that solar thermal power generation technology is scalable and efficient, and is one of the effective ways to promote resource conservation and environmental friendliness.
