Bus-type microcontroller: It has parallel address bus, data bus and control bus external pins, which can be used to expand peripheral devices in parallel.

Non-bus type MCU: No parallel address bus, data bus and control bus external pins, can not expand peripheral devices in parallel. The required external rigid devices and peripheral interfaces are integrated into the MCU, eliminating the address bus, data bus and useless control terminal lines originally used for parallel expansion, reducing the number of chip pins and chip size. If expansion is needed, it can be expanded through the serial port.

Due to the development of serial expansion technology and the application of on-chip Flash ROM, non-bus type microcontrollers will gradually become the mainstream direction of microcontroller development.
