TSMC's Zhunan advanced packaging and testing plant is expected to be built after passing the environmental impact assessment principle

The plan to build the advanced packaging and testing plant in Zhunan, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd., was approved in principle by the Environmental Impact Assessment Review Meeting today. After the approval of the TSMC Board of Directors, the final version will be submitted before February 10 next year. TSMC Zhunan Plant will be able to start the construction project. Legislator Chen Chaoming came to the scene to pay his respects before the review meeting, and announced the good news after learning the result.

Chen Chaoming said that after years of helping to solve the water and electricity problems, it has finally come to this point. He also strived for TSMC to agree that in the future when recruiting talents, it can give priority to hiring Miaoli people under the same conditions.

The Miaoli County Government pointed out that the Taiwan Semiconductor Advanced Packaging and Testing Plant is located in the special area (Dapu) around the Zhunan Science Park. The base area is 14.3 hectares. It is planned to be used as the land for the construction of TSMC's advanced packaging and testing plant, in order to improve its international competitive advantage and provide customers with better process technology and packaging and testing services. The establishment of the plant is estimated to increase more than 2,500 jobs.
