Although the current price factor restricts the widespread promotion and application of high-power LEDs, high-power LEDs are highly reliable and greatly save future maintenance and replacement costs. The colors are bright, and other light sources cannot achieve this effect. It is easy to control, and can achieve the effect of dynamic lighting through digital control technology. The compact size can make the lamp shape more creative. LED downlight is a kind of lighting fixture embedded in the ceiling. Its biggest feature is that it can maintain the overall unity and perfection of architectural decoration, and will not destroy the perfect unity of ceiling art due to the setting of lamps. It uses high-power LED as the light source, and the visual effect is soft and uniform. Since LED is the future green lighting product, and LED has the advantage of energy saving, it occupies an increasingly important position in the development trend of downlight light sources.
Although the initial investment cost of high-power LED downlights is much higher than that of traditional lamps, after long-term use, the total cost will be lower than that of traditional lamps. Therefore, the use of high-power LEDs in downlights is significantly better than traditional incandescent light sources. And because high-power LEDs are driven by constant current and have no flicker, there is no eye fatigue in long-term working environments. The characteristics of high-power LEDs are:
1. High-power LED consumes less power: LED with a luminous efficiency of 65Lm/W consumes 80% less power than an incandescent lamp of equal brightness.
2. High-power LED has long life: LED life is up to 50,000 hours, and can be used for 7 years if it is continuously lit for 24 hours.
3. High-power LEDs have a response speed as fast as nanoseconds, and the brightness and color are easy to control dynamically, realizing digital control of dynamic color changes.
4. High-power LED is easy to design: it can be well matched with the building, achieving the effect of only seeing the light but not the lamp.
5. High-power LED is clean and environmentally friendly: no harmful metal mercury, no infrared and ultraviolet radiation.
6. Color: Different wavelengths produce different colored light, which is bright and saturated. No filter is required. Different colors can be formed by controlling the three primary colors of red, green and blue, and various color effects such as full color and gradient can be achieved.
High-power LEDs have shown obvious advantages in energy saving and long life in replacing incandescent light sources. Since there is little room for improvement in many technical aspects of incandescent lamps and some other traditional light sources, LED lamps have replaced or displaced the halogen bulbs, gas discharge bulbs, and tungsten filament bulbs in existing lighting downlights. The luminous efficiency of LED downlights is much higher than that of traditional lamps. However, due to the high initial purchase cost, its energy-saving effect is not very obvious compared with fluorescent lamps and energy-saving lamps.
