Generally, UPS power supply is mainly composed of charger (CHARGER), inverter (INVERTER), static switch (SYATICSWITCH), battery (BATTERY) and control part.

The basic components and functions of UPS power supply are briefly described as follows:

Generally, UPS power supply is mainly composed of charger (CHARGER), inverter (INVERTER), static switch (SYATICSWITCH), battery (BATTERY) and control part.

The functions of each part of the UPS power supply are briefly described as follows:

1. The role of the charger

It absorbs energy from the main power supply, generates direct current through a bridge thyristor rectifier circuit and a resistor-capacitor filter circuit, and supplies the direct current to the battery and inverter.

2. The main function of the inverter

Converts the DC power from the charger or battery into AC power output. Some also call the inverter a DC/AC converter. It is the core component of the UPS power supply. The performance of the inverter has a decisive influence on the output waveform, efficiency, reliability, transient response, noise, volume, weight, etc. of the UPS power supply. The performance of a UPS power supply is mainly determined by the performance of the inverter.

3. The main function of static switch

The main function of the static switch is to ensure uninterrupted power supply of the UPS power system. When the UPS power supply is normal, the inverter outputs AC power as the main power supply for the computer equipment (or the AC power directly supplies power to the computer after passing through the voltage stabilizer). When the following situations occur:

①When the computer equipment starts or surge overload occurs;

②When the inverter fails.

Through the voltage detection signal, the static switch quickly transfers the load from the inverter power supply to the mains power supply. Once it returns to normal, after detecting that the mains power and the inverter voltage are synchronized and have the same frequency, it switches to the inverter power supply again. The static switch is the key device to complete the conversion and ensure reliable conversion and uninterrupted power supply.

4. The main function of the battery

The battery is a device that stores electrical energy. When the power supply is normal, the DC power supply charges the battery. It converts electrical energy into chemical energy and stores it. When the city power is interrupted, the UPS power supply will rely on the energy stored in the battery to output DC power to maintain the normal operation of the inverter. That is, it converts chemical energy into electrical energy for the inverter to use.

5. The main role of the control part The control part plays a very important role in the UPS power supply. Through reasonable control, the UPS power supply can provide stable and reliable power to the computer according to the design requirements. ■
