C&K launches the EL Sealed Tactile Switch as a high-volume, competitively priced solution for your tactile switch needs
EL Series Sealed Tactile Switches are the perfect solution for a variety of applications at a very competitive price
WALTHAM, Mass. — August 4, 2021 — C&K, a leading manufacturer of high-quality electromechanical switches, has developed a versatile sealed tact switch that can be used in a variety of applications across major markets. The EL tact switch combines a common design height and operating force with a longer service life than competitors, with up to 200,000 operations.
The EL Series is an excellent addition to the C&K tactile switch portfolio, meeting basic needs such as sealing at a very competitive price. The EL has the standard market size of 6.2mm x 6.2mm, with heights of 3.5mm and 5.2mm, which allows our design to be a 100% replacement for competitor switches. The EL Series has an IP67 rating, making it ideal for harsh environment applications. Rest assured that your switch will remain sealed for the duration of use. The soft feel allows for easier integration of forward/rear travel. The EL is priced very low, with only 4 configurations and no other options to ensure the best cost-effectiveness.
Compared to competitor tactile switches, the EL series has a longer service life, achieving 200,000 operations at both 2N and 3.5N pressure conditions. The EL's standard sizes are widely used in the industrial, medical, consumer and home appliance markets.
“The compact EL Series tactile switches give designers the flexibility to design them into the most common applications,” said Regis Clement, global product manager for C&K. “Creating a high-quality, low-cost switch is not easy, but C&K has done it.”
