At present, most of the batteries used in cars are dry-charged batteries, which have the advantage that the car can be started within 30 to 40 minutes without charging after adding electrolyte. However, some people do not understand the principle and do not know how to maintain it, which greatly shortens the life of the battery. How to correctly choose and use the battery?

First, when buying batteries, first identify the letters on the battery. Any battery with the letters QA is a Yuhe battery.

Second, when adding electrolyte, shake it evenly before adding it into the battery, and be careful not to splash the electrolyte on your hands and clothes.

Third, for batteries without marking lines, the electrolyte only needs to be added to a level 10 to 15 mm above the plate; for batteries with two red lines, the electrolyte should not exceed the upper red line.

Some drivers think that the more electrolyte is added, the greater the power will be. This is wrong. When the car is driving at high speed, the generator speed is high; its power generation is greater than the battery, and it starts to charge the battery. At this time, the electrolyte will expand. If the electrolyte is too full, it will overflow from the small hole in the battery cover. The electrolyte is conductive. Once the electrolyte flows between the positive and negative poles, it will form self-discharge, the car cannot start, and the battery life will be shortened. In this case, use cotton to wipe off the electrolyte. If it is too sticky and difficult to wipe off, rinse and wipe it clean with boiling water.

Fourth, do not let other objects fall into the battery when adding liquid. If any object falls out, do not use metal objects to fish it out. Use a dry wooden stick to clamp out the impurities. If you use iron or copper wire to hook it, the metal molecules will enter the battery under the corrosion of sulfuric acid, causing self-discharge and damaging the battery.

Fifth, during normal driving, you should frequently check whether the small holes on the battery cover are ventilated. If the small holes on the battery cover are blocked, the generated hydrogen and oxygen cannot be discharged. When the electrolyte expands, it will burst the battery shell and reduce the battery life.

Sixth, the electrolyte level should be checked regularly and electrolyte should be added in time. When adding electrolyte to the battery in winter, it is best to add it after the car is started and the engine is running to avoid electrolyte freezing.

Seventh, a car that has not been used for a long time should be started every 25 days or so, and the hand accelerator should be used to control the speed to a medium level for about 20 minutes. Otherwise, the car will not start when it is needed if it is left for too long.

Eighth, when removing the battery from the car, you should remove the negative pole first and then the positive pole, and vice versa when installing. When charging, be sure to unscrew the battery cap, and do not approach the battery port with open flames, because the hydrogen generated in the battery during charging can easily explode and damage the battery, and the electrolyte can also hurt people.

Ninth, do not replace the battery of the car with one with a larger capacity than the original one, because the power generation of the generator in the car is fixed and the power generation will not increase. If you replace the battery with a larger capacity, the new battery will be undercharged and the car will not be able to start smoothly. The battery will deteriorate faster due to long-term power loss.

10. When starting the car, the starting time should not exceed 3 to 5 seconds each time, and the interval between starting again should be no less than 15 seconds. If the car still does not start after multiple starts, find the cause from the starting circuit, such as the starter suction coil and ignition circuit and other aspects.
