Recently, a small solar-powered inflatable lamp appeared at an event called Mpowerd held in New York City, USA. Its main function is to meet people's needs for lighting equipment during power outages. Generally, people usually use flashlights as the main lighting equipment after a power outage. However, the light emitted by a flashlight is often in only one direction and has a relatively narrow range, which cannot fully meet people's needs for light in the dark. Therefore, this solar-powered inflatable lamp named Luci received attention at the Mpowerd event.
Luci's appearance is somewhat similar to that of an ancient lantern. It consists of a transparent cylindrical plastic cover and a light source at the bottom. The plastic cover can be freely contracted by inflating and deflating. The light source is equipped with 10 energy-saving LED lights and a solar panel, which can convert solar energy into electricity for lighting. When the power switch is turned on, the light from the LED hits the transparent plastic cover and then spreads out in a 360-degree range, creating an effect similar to that of ordinary lighting.
It is reported that its brightness level is comparable to that of a 60-watt light bulb. It takes 6 hours to absorb solar energy to fully charge the battery, but it can illuminate for up to 12 hours. In addition, it also provides a mobile phone charging port and Wi-Fi function. It is currently priced at around US$16.
