Texas Instruments (TI) power management IC has a variety of solutions. Among them, TPS65053x is an integrated power management IC for applications that are powered by a single lithium-ion battery or lithium polymer battery and require multiple power rails. TPS65053X provides up to 1A output in the converter.

Key Features:

The TPS65053x is an integrated power management IC for applications that require multiple power rails and are powered by a single lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery. The TPS65053x provides two high-efficiency, 2.25MHz step-down converters designed to provide core voltage and I/O voltage in a processor-based system. Both step-down converters enter a low-power mode under light load conditions to maximize efficiency over the widest possible load current range. For low-noise applications, the device can be forced into fixed-frequency PWM mode by pulling the MODE pin high. Both converters allow the use of small inductors and capacitors to achieve a compact solution size.

Solution Features:

This solution simplifies the evaluation of the TPS65053 integrated power management IC in applications using the Freescale i.MX27 processor. The TPS65053 contains two DC/DC converter switches and three low-dropout linear regulators and is powered by a 2.7V to 5.5V supply.
