How to use lithium electric vehicle batteries correctly
The correct way to use lithium batteries can actually be summed up in three points:
1. There is no special method to activate lithium battery electric vehicles. The lithium battery will be activated naturally during the driving of the electric vehicle. If you deliberately use the popular "first three 12-hour long charging activation" method, it will only be futile and have no effect.
2. When the lithium battery shows a low power prompt during driving, you should charge the lithium battery as soon as possible. (Quick charging stations are strongly not recommended here, as they will damage the battery. Not all the sayings on the market about charging the battery after it is used up and charging the battery for a long time are correct. It also depends on the type of battery. The practice of "trying to use up the battery of the electric vehicle as much as possible, preferably until it can no longer run" is actually only used on nickel batteries, and the purpose is of course to avoid the occurrence of battery memory effect.)
3. Charge according to the standard time and procedure, even for the first three times; (especially do not charge for more than 12 hours)
Wrong way to use lithium-ion electric vehicle batteries
It is wrong to blindly pursue 12 hours of ultra-long charging and to use up the lithium battery until it runs out of power. If you have done this in the past, please correct it in time.
Daily maintenance and storage of lithium batteries
The self-discharge rate of lithium primary batteries is very low, and they can generally be stored for 3 years. The effect will be better if they are stored under refrigerated conditions. It is a good idea to store lithium primary batteries in a low temperature place. Lithium-ion batteries can be stored for more than half a year at 20°C. This is because their self-discharge rate is very low and most of their capacity can be restored. Lithium batteries have a self-discharge phenomenon. If the battery voltage is stored below 3.6V for a long time, it will cause the battery to be over-discharged and damage the internal structure of the battery, reducing the battery life.
Therefore, long-term lithium batteries should be recharged every 3 to 6 months, that is, charged to a voltage of 3.8 to 3.9V (the best storage voltage of lithium batteries is about 3.85V), not fully charged. The application temperature range of lithium batteries is very wide. They can still be used outdoors in the winter in the north, but the capacity will be greatly reduced. If they return to room temperature, the capacity can be restored, which is affected by a certain temperature. Unlike lithium-ion batteries, lithium primary batteries cannot be recharged, and charging is very dangerous. Other precautions are equivalent to lithium-ion batteries.
