(1) Before measuring, the size of the current to be measured should be estimated, and the appropriate range should be selected so that the pointer indicates more than the base scale during measurement. Do not use a small range to measure a large current. If you are not sure about the size of the current to be measured, you should first set the range switch to the highest gear, and then change to the appropriate range according to the size of the measured value. Note that when changing gears, the measured wire should be placed outside the clamp ammeter's bayonet.


(2) Clamp-on ammeters usually have a larger range. When measuring currents below 5A, in order to obtain accurate readings, the current-carrying wire to be measured can be wound around the iron core for several turns and then measured. However, the actual measurement value should be the meter reading divided by the number of turns.


(3) The measured wire should be placed at the base of the jaws as much as possible to reduce measurement errors.
