Previously, I introduced to you what Hall elements are, and also introduced the types and applications of Hall elements. So, after using Hall elements, when the equipment has problems, how to judge whether it is caused by damage to the Hall element? Next, I will introduce to you how to detect whether the Hall element is damaged.
First, take a three-hole socket, pin 1 is for 5-15V power, pin 2 is for ground, and pin 3 is for output.
Second, plug the Hall element into the socket at pins 1, 2, and 3. Turn on the power supply and connect the multimeter to pins 3 and 2 to measure the output voltage.
Third, place one pole of a magnet close to the front of the Hall element and observe the output voltage of the multimeter. Place the other pole of a magnet close to the front of the Hall element and observe the output voltage of the multimeter.
Fourth, when the magnetic pole is close to the Hall element, if the output voltage jumps, the Hall element is normal. If the voltage remains unchanged, change the multimeter to pins 1 and 3 and repeat the above process. If the output voltage remains unchanged, it means that the Hall element is damaged.
With these four simple steps, you can determine whether the problem is with the Hall element. If you encounter this problem, just follow my steps.
