  Power Analyzer Function

Power analyzers are mainly used to measure the power, efficiency and other parameters of power conversion devices such as motors, inverters, transformers, etc. They are widely used in the testing of hybrid electric vehicles, electric vehicles, solar power generation, wind power generation, inverters, variable frequency motors and fuel cells. Some analyzers, such as the WP4000 variable frequency power analyzer, also have functions such as real-time waveform, waveform data recording and harmonic analysis.

  Power Analyzer Classification

  1. Classification by instrument phase number

Currently, most power analyzers on the market have three phases or more, with four and six phases being more common, and some have up to eight phases.

  2. Classification by main characteristics

Power analyzers can be classified according to their main characteristics into: variable frequency power analyzers, wide-band power analyzers, high-precision power analyzers, harmonic power analyzers, low power factor power analyzers, etc.

  3. Classification by the number of phases of the equipment under test

Phase analysis mainly refers to the name of the power analyzer when it is measuring a motor or a motor driver such as a frequency converter. The number of phases of the motor driver is determined by the motor. According to the number of phases of the device being measured, the power analyzer can be classified into: single-phase power analyzer, two-phase power analyzer, three-phase power analyzer, five-phase power analyzer, six-phase power analyzer, twelve-phase power analyzer and fifteen-phase power analyzer. Usually, three phases or more are collectively referred to as multi-phase power analyzers. Twelve-phase and fifteen-phase power analyzers are generally implemented by combining multiple multi-phase power analyzers, and the power analyzer is generally required to have a host synchronization function.
