Turbine flowmeter is the main type of velocity flowmeter. It uses a multi-blade rotor (turbine) to sense the average flow velocity of the fluid and derive the flow rate or total amount from it.
Correct installation of the flow meter has a great influence on the measurement accuracy of the flow meter.
1. Uneven flow velocity distribution and the existence of secondary flow in the pipe are important factors affecting the measurement accuracy of the turbine flowmeter.
2. The turbine flowmeter has high requirements on the cleanliness of the fluid. A filter must be installed in front of the flowmeter to ensure the cleanliness of the fluid.
3. To ensure that the liquid passing through the flow meter is single-phase, that is, to prevent air or steam from entering the flow meter, a degasser should be installed upstream of the flow meter if necessary.
When using the flow meter, pay attention to its cleaning and maintenance to ensure that the service life of the flow meter can be extended and the accuracy of the measurement data can be ensured.
1. When the pipeline of the turbine flowmeter needs to be cleaned, a bypass must be opened and the cleaning liquid cannot pass through the flowmeter.
2. When starting the pipeline system, the bypass must be opened first to prevent a sudden increase in flow rate, which may cause the turbine to rotate too fast and be damaged.
3. The bearings of turbine flowmeters should be replaced regularly. Generally, the wear of bearings can be observed based on the changes in small flow characteristics.
