Infrared thermometers have a wide range of applications, mainly in the following areas:
1. Food field: scanning management, service and storage temperature.
2. Electrical area: Check for faulty transformers, electrical panels and connectors.
3. Automotive industry: Diagnosis of cylinders and heating/cooling systems.
4. HVAC field: monitor air stratification, supply/return records, and furnace performance.
5. Other fields: It is used in many engineering, base and transformation applications.
Things to note when using infrared thermometer:
When using an infrared thermometer to measure temperature, point the infrared thermometer at the object to be measured, press the trigger to read the temperature data on the instrument's LCD, and ensure that the ratio of distance to spot size and field of view are arranged properly.
When using an infrared thermometer, be sure to pay attention to the following precautions:
1. It can only measure the surface temperature of an object, but not its internal temperature.
2. Infrared thermometers cannot measure temperature through glass. Glass has very special reflection and transmission characteristics that do not allow accurate infrared temperature readings. However, it can measure temperature through infrared windows. Infrared thermometers are best not used to measure the temperature of shiny or polished metal surfaces (stainless steel, aluminum, etc.).
3. Carefully locate the hot spot. Once the hot spot is found, aim the infrared temperature measuring instrument at the target, and then scan up and down on the target until the hot spot is determined.
4. When using an infrared thermometer, pay attention to environmental conditions: smoke, steam, dust, etc. They will block the optical system of the instrument and affect accurate temperature measurement.
5. When using an infrared thermometer, you must also pay attention to the ambient temperature. If the infrared thermometer is suddenly exposed to an ambient temperature difference of 20 degrees or more, allow the instrument to adjust to the new ambient temperature within 20 minutes.
