The electronic thermometer shown in the figure can be used in the range of -55 degrees Celsius to 150 degrees Celsius. Sensor S1 emits a current proportional to the absolute temperature. Given compensation and range expansion as required by the reference and operational amplifier, the result is read directly in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit.
