  With the development of oscilloscope technology and computer technology, the accuracy requirements for signal detection and analysis are getting higher and higher. Ordinary oscilloscopes are relatively bulky, inconvenient to use and have low accuracy. Modern computers generally have flexible and convenient USB interfaces, so this high-performance virtual oscilloscope based on USB interface has appeared in the vast measurement industry.

  In the USB oscilloscope, the adapter is the core of the USB oscilloscope, which is mainly used for signal measurement. The PC processes and analyzes the data and displays the data on the computer monitor. The adapter is composed of a preamplifier and attenuator, an A/D converter, a USB interface, etc. The measured signal is actually processed in the adapter, and the data is transmitted to the PC through the USB interface. The relevant software running on the PC processes and analyzes the received data, and then displays the results on the computer screen. The appearance of the oscilloscope displayed by the PC is similar to that of a general oscilloscope. All panel operations are the same as those of a general oscilloscope. On the PC, it is realized through a graphical interface and related buttons, and can be controlled by a mouse. The large display of the PC can be supplemented by a perfect graphical user interface on the displayed signal waveform. At the same time, due to the intervention of the PC, the measurement accuracy of the oscilloscope is also improved, because it has become one of the mainstreams of the new generation of oscilloscopes.

  A general USB oscilloscope will have the following performance characteristics:

  (1) One machine has multiple uses, and can realize the functions of digital storage oscilloscope, waveform recorder, waveform generator, spectrum analyzer, acoustic analysis graph, frequency counter, mathematical correlation graph and voltage and current meter.

  (2) Recording, storage and playback functions, can record the current screen or the entire waveform.

  (3) Multiple record storage options. Data can be imported into WORD, EXCEL, and NOTEPAD, making it easy to generate reports and further analyze using the powerful chart function of EXCEL.

  (4) Streamlined design, compact size, USB2.0 interface, no power supply required, similar interface to a desktop oscilloscope, easy to use.

  (5) High refresh rate, high sampling rate, real-time sampling, PASS/FAIL Check function, suitable for engineering applications.

  (6) One computer can be connected to multiple oscilloscopes at the same time, easily expanding the number of channels.

  (7) The system has online automatic calibration function to ensure system accuracy, and can also perform online printing, hardware copying and other functions;

  (8) Plug and play, automatically search and identify instruments, and display instrument subdivision models.

  USB oscilloscopes inherit the advantages of general oscilloscopes and have a friendly human-machine interface, which is easy to operate. The performance of USB oscilloscopes needs to be determined according to different signals to see its specific performance and the accuracy of measurement. Interested friends can read more related articles to learn. Of course, the best way to learn and master is to do it by hand. Friends who have an environment where they can use digital oscilloscopes can also test it themselves.
