As we all know, in some harsh field conditions, we often need to protect our field instrument measurement pipelines to ensure measurement accuracy. Here we introduce the guidance of the correct operation of the instrument heating and insulation. Take the orifice flowmeter as an example. When measuring certain low-temperature media, it is necessary to take certain heating measures on the field pressure-taking pipeline to ensure the measurement accuracy of the differential pressure transmitter. Steam heating and electric heating are commonly used in industry.
When steam heating is used, the following regulations should be met:

1. The steam heating pipeline of the orifice flowmeter should use a single circuit for steam supply and return water, and should not be connected in series.
2. The heating pipeline of heavy heating should be in close contact with the measuring pipeline, and the heating pipeline of light heating should be spaced from the measuring pipeline.
3. A drainage device should be added to the liquid collection point of the heating pipeline of the orifice flowmeter. 4.
The connection of the heating pipeline should be welded, and it should not be too tight when fixed, and it should be able to stretch freely.
5. The heating pipelines at the liquid level gauge, isolator, etc. should be connected with a flexible joint.

When electric heating is used, the following regulations shall be met:

1. The appearance and insulation of the heating wire shall be inspected before laying, and the insulation resistance value shall not be less than 1 megohm.
2. The heating wire shall be laid evenly, close to the pipeline, and firmly fixed.
3. When laying the heating wire, the insulation layer shall not be damaged, and the exposed part of the core wire shall be as short as possible.
4. The electric heating tube (plate) in the instrument box shall be installed on the bottom or rear wall of the box.
5. The temperature control device in the instrument box shall be installed on the side wall of the box.

On-site measurement of pipeline heating is a very important link, and many erroneous operations will occur because of our assumptions. So here, I hope that the above summary can serve as a summary for everyone. (end)
