V-cone flowmeter (throttling differential pressure flowmeter) and vortex flowmeter are the core flowmeters and the main measuring flowmeters. The throttling differential pressure flowmeter is mainly applied to the standard throttling device. Such as: standard orifice plate, standard nozzle and classic venturi tube. In recent years, V-cone flowmeter as a new type of differential pressure flowmeter is slowly replacing the standard throttling device. When the V-cone flowmeter is used for field measurement, its specific advantages are mainly reflected in the following aspects:
1. Wide range. The normal measurement range of the standard throttling device is 1:3, but the V-cone flowmeter can reach 1:13, and the measurement accuracy is guaranteed to be 0.5. The high accuracy and wide range ratio greatly facilitate the field measurement and save a certain amount of cost for the field process. The V-cone flowmeter can also adapt to the load changes of steam in summer and winter.
2. Linear differential pressure output. The V-cone flowmeter is combined with a multi-parameter differential pressure transmitter. The differential pressure signal output and flow rate are in a linear relationship, which is beneficial to improve the measurement accuracy
. 3. The straight pipe section requirement is low. Due to the variable area setting of the V-cone flowmeter, it becomes a measuring mechanism that can be used under high Reynolds numbers. Generally, the straight pipe section is required to be a straight pipe section with a distance of 5D upstream and 3D downstream.
Moreover, with the combination of computer technology and field measurement technology, the pressure signal and temperature signal are integrated into the differential pressure signal, and the field differential pressure signal is compensated, so that the changes in fluid conditions can be accurately tracked, and the accurate value of the field fluid can be reflected evenly.
However, when measuring steam, the V-cone flowmeter also has some disadvantages. When the field pressure is relatively high, it is generally not suitable to use it, because the cone of the V-cone flowmeter will fall off during measurement due to the high local pressure. Therefore, in high-pressure occasions, it is still necessary to select a standard throttling device and choose direct welding as the installation method. (end)
