The wide applicability of the automatic test system is because the design of the automatic test system is not for a single test object, but for abstracting and classifying the functional test of the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board test (here is an abstract printed circuit board) copying process can be divided into signal input and signal output:

Signal input is divided into: energy signal; information signal; control signal;

The output of the signal is also divided into: energy signal; information signal; control signal;

The above three signals can be divided into: periodic signal; non-periodic signal; DC signal according to the nature of the copy board signal.

Based on the above signal classification, the test process of the printed circuit board can be simply summarized as a process of excitation and response, that is, in the test process of the printed circuit board, appropriate excitation is applied at the appropriate node at the appropriate time, and then the response is detected and judged at the appropriate node at the appropriate time to determine whether the response is consistent with the expected response. If it is consistent, it is judged as correct (or qualified); if it is inconsistent, it is judged as incorrect (or unqualified).

From this we can clearly see that this process is a clear program process, which is most suitable for computer completion.

The advantages of this method are obvious: simple, effective, fast and reliable. The most prominent advantage of the automatic test system compared with the traditional manual test is that the manual test method has inherent uncertainty in the test copy results due to investment, personnel training and other reasons. The automatic test system can reduce the uncertainty to a minimum.
