Arm announced that Hangzhou Haixing Electric Power Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Haixing Electric Power") has become the latest strategic partner of Arm IoT. Arm provides basic technology to Haixing Electric Power through the Pelion IoT platform, helping it to build a full-stack IoT solution for its customers and expand into new markets.
The Arm Pelion IoT platform has helped smart meter manufacturers and utilities deploy, connect, ensure security and manage the next generation of advanced metering architecture (AMI). Haixing Power is the latest example of such application. The company has expanded its business to emerging markets including Southeast Asia, India, South America and Europe with smart meter and AMI solutions through Pelion device management and Wi-SUN-compliant connectivity technology. Wi-SUN provides a mesh network architecture that minimizes the direct access of devices to cellular communication connections without affecting bandwidth, traffic or security, fundamentally reducing the operating costs of large-scale device deployment, which is extremely important for emerging markets. At the same time, Pelion device management technology ensures that these smart meters can be maintained and updated through online upgrades throughout their multi-year life cycle.
“Single network, multi-application deployment following the Wi-SUN standard gives utilities confidence in the technology they use because it is the most reliable, economical and highly scalable secure network available today,” said Zhou Liangzhang, Chairman of Haixing Power. “We have integrated Arm’s leading Pelion IoT platform into Haixing’s smart metering product set and Orca application services, which not only provides utilities with proven device management and meter control capabilities, but also provides a highly cost-effective solution for operating and maintaining assets within their lifecycle.”
