Abstract: Using low-cost, large-area, low-work-function FED cathode materials and cathode pastes, a large-area printed FED (prototype) was developed, which has independent intellectual property rights and is the first of its kind in China and abroad. The working principle of the low-work-function printable field emission display system, the conversion and processing of digital video images, the transmission of video data, the column grayscale drive and row drive integrated circuits, and the FPGA control technology are introduced. In order to improve the display effect of the field emission display, corresponding solutions such as brightness non-uniformity correction, γ correction, and automatic power control are proposed through theoretical analysis and practical verification. Image processing technology is applied to the drive circuit to improve the brightness uniformity and grayscale reproduction quality of the image and reduce the power consumption of the whole machine. This technology is first applied to the large-screen low-work-function printed 63.5cm (25-inch) VGA-level color FED drive system, and a color FED display prototype that can display color video images is developed.
