The microcontroller is the core component of the microcontroller embedded system. This chapter will first introduce the basic composition and structure of a general microcontroller, so that everyone can have a basic understanding and knowledge of the hardware inside the microcontroller. Mastering the basic structure and composition of the microcontroller is very important for learning and understanding the working principle of any type of microcontroller, writing system software for the microcontroller, and designing peripheral circuits. As an example, this chapter focuses on the new AVR high-speed microcontroller that uses RISC instructions as the main introduction object, and takes the ATmega16, an AVR microcontroller that is mainly explained and used in this book, as the main line, and introduces the basic structure and system composition of the AVR microcontroller in detail.
