In view of the need for flexibility and convenience in product use, many systems use rechargeable batteries as the main energy source. The typical implementation method of battery chargers is to use a dedicated integrated circuit IC to control the charging current/voltage range. The C8051F300 series microcontrollers provide a flexible solution to replace dedicated battery chargers. This application note discusses how to use the C8051F300 device to design a lithium-ion battery charger. The lithium-ion charging algorithm is also applicable to other chemical battery chargers. Key points
