Linear Technology Introduces High Efficiency, 17V Input Synchronous Step-Down Regulator LTC3622

Linear Technology Corporation introduces the LTC3622, a high efficiency, 17V input synchronous step-down regulator that delivers dual 1A continuous current to outputs as low as 0.6V. Synchronous rectification provides up to 95% efficiency while Burst Mode operation requires only 5μA of no-load quiescent current. The LTC3622 switches at a fixed 1MHz frequency, while the LTC3622-2 switches at 2.25MHz. Their constant frequency, current mode architecture minimizes switching noise while providing very fast line and load transient response. The LTC3622/-2 operates over an input voltage range of 2.7V to 17V, making it ideal for single or dual Li-Ion battery applications and 5V or 12V intermediate bus systems. Its 3mm x 4mm DFN package, high switching frequency, and tiny, low-cost capacitors and inductors combine to ensure a highly compact solution footprint.
